Just spent a lovely family weekend in The Pavilion and would highly recommend it. Not your average holiday rental! Plenty of kitchen equipment which made catering very easy (not just 3 pans, 10 cups - there's loads of them!). House sleeps 10 so was ideal for a family get together. Great location for beach walks and the garden would be superb for summer al fresco dining. Hope we can get together here again soon.
We have recently returned from a holiday at The Pavilion, Sandsend with my disabled Daughter and I would like to share my thoughts of the house from a disabled point of view.
The access is the only minus point we found. I was aware of the ramps to get up to the house but in practice it was difficult to push my Daughter in the wheelchair up them to the house. However, once we were in the house, things were much better. The doors and hall are wide making manoeuvring easy. From the hall turning left you enter the kitchen which leads on to the lounge, both of which have wide doors and level.
To the right in the hall a corridor leads to a spacious bedroom with adjacent wet room. Again, we found it very comfortable to get round and the wet room has grab rails and a seat making showering easy.
I think The Pavilion is the best equipped house I have stayed in. The kitchen has everything one could possibly need. There are indoor and outdoor games for everyone.
I would definitely return with my Daughter to this property but I would make sure I had plenty of help negotiating the ramps.
This is our last night ofa 3 night stay at this fab house, 8 friends have enjoyed a fantastic weekend, house is great well equipped and has everything anyone could want or need.
Thank you for letting us share your property, will recommend to others without hesitation.......xxx
We really enjoyed our stay at The Pavilion with our son, daughter in law and grandchildren. The house is in a wonderful location - really quiet and away from the main road, but with lovely sea views and only a couple of minutes' walk to the beach. It was really nice for all of us to have our own shower or bathroom particularly with two teenagers in tow! Sandsend is a beautiful seaside village, very close to Whitby but having a great pub and several excellent cafes close at hand. Can't wait to come back later in the year.
